As a cyclotourist, I always bring tools because bicycle shops are not always within reach. This review compares this titanium tool to the Wolf Tooth plier multitool, Topeak nano torque, and Mineral Designs mini bar (unfortunately no longer available). Wolf Tooth is the lightest by a little bit and does have more functions but the bits are very small and require finesse to get a specific bit out fast (to remove the thru-axle to fix a flat tire, while everyone is waiting). I also need a Philips #1 bit for the SRAM battery cover and every tool comes with Philips #2 and it took a lot of searching to find one that fits the Wolf Tooth tool. The Topeak nano torque works well too but can only hold 2 bits (additional bits in a bag is ok). The Topeak torque adapters can be used with other tools, except the Wolf Tooth tool (unless I can find a 1/4 inch driver). The Mineral Designs mini bar is the closest in terms of functions to the Spurcycle titanium tool. It’s magnetized to hold 6 bits and handle together. The handle is chromoly so it is not a lightweight but it’s very easy and fast to get it to work. I am putting the Spurcycle titanium tool through all the typical chores and it’s nearly as easy to work with as the Mineral Designs mini bar (can hold 3 bits simultaneously), much lighter than almost every mini tool, compact, and very well-made. It’s easy to substitute bits or replace them if lost.
